2010 RMA Summer Guitar Workshop July 21-24 featuring Andy Timmons & Andy Wood
The 2010 RMA Summer Guitar Workshop is now open for registration at
www.raleighmusicacademy.com. This year we are happy to welcome back one of our favorites - Andy Timmons! He joined us in 2004 and 2007 and now returns to teach and perform
with us for 2 days of our 4 day workshop. Andy has such an amazing gift of melody and phrasing which makes him one of the most sought after clinicians for Ibanez and Mesa Boogie. He will
discuss guitar tone, songwriting, give students constructive tips on their own playing and hold a performance clinic while with us. You can learn more about him at his website located at
www.andytimmons.com.
Another up and coming star of the guitar world joins us for all 4 days of the workshop - Andy Wood. He is a force to be reckoned with when
it comes to chicken' pickin', hybrid picking and lots of down home shredding. His popularity continues to grow quickly as he's made appearances with Guthrie Govan and Pete Thorn while representing
Suhr Guitars. Andy has an amazing depth of musical experience for a player so relatively young and his bluegrass, country, jazz and metal roots help him connect
with many types of players.
Check out the video clips below of Andy Timmons and Andy Wood for some amazing playing:
We are also happy to welcome back our regular summer guitar workshop instructor, Chris Ptacek of Plainfield School of Music near Chicago. Chris is an excellent player and teacher
who really works hard with the students to help them apply all of this info which is covered during the 4 days.
An special part of this year's workshop are more giveaways from Xotic Effects, Port City Amps, Eminence Speakers and Dimarzio. Xotic will be providing a pedal giveaway, Dimarzio is providing some Andy Timmons pickups, and Port City along with Eminence Speakers will provide a 2x12 fulled loaded cab with Texas Heat speakers. The cab is a $685 value! Thanks to these sponsors for making these events even more exciting and fun for the participants.
